The ingredients needed to make Kanika:
- Prepare 3 tbs ghee
- Provide 1 cup basamati rice
- Take Water
- Use Salt
- Use 1 tbs turmeric powder
- Take 1 cinnamon stick
- Take 1 star anis

- Use 2 green cardamom

- Soak the basamati rice for 30min.
- Take a cooker add the sugar and let it dissolves. Then add the ghee. Then add cinnamon stick, star anis, cloves, black pepper, bay leaf, green cardamom in it and fry it for sometime. Then add the cashew nuts and raisin.
- Then add the rice in it mix it well, add salt and turmeric and 2cups of water. Cook it till 2 whistle in a low - medium flame. Don't open the cooker, let it release it's all pressure then open it.
