The ingredients needed to cook Yam and garden egg sauce:
- Use Half tuber of yam
- You need 8 medium size of white garden egg
- Use 1 cup vegetable oil
- Get 1 fresh mackerel fish
- Use 1 medium sized bonga fish
- Take Fresh pepper
- You need 1 bulb of onion
- You need cube Stock
- You need to taste Salt

- Season your fish with salt and stock cube and boil till the stock is almost dried
- Boil your garden egg for about ten minutes to soften it, then roughly mash it.
- Blend your fresh pepper with half bulb of onion roughly, then set aside
- Pound your bonga and set aside, crayfish can be used in place of bonga.
- Heat your vegetable oil in a sauce pan, add sliced onion and fry for few seconds, add the blended pepper and onion, fry for a while
- Add the mashed garden egg and fry for about three minutes, add the fish and fish stock, add the pounded bonga or crayfish, fry till sauce is dried.
- Taste and adjust the taste with stock cube and salt, then put off your heat.
- Peel and cut your yam to your desired shape
