- Get 2 cups boiled rice
- Prepare 1 chopped potato
- Provide 1 chopped tomato
- You need 1/2 chopped cabbage
- Get 1/2 bowl peas
- Take 1 sliced onion
- Take as per taste Salt
- Take 3-4 tsp red chilli paste
- You need 2 tbsp. pav bhaji masala
- You need 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
- Use 2 tbsp. cooking oil
- Use For red chilli paste–
- Get 5-6 red chillies
- Take 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- Take 5-6 garlic cloves
- Take As requried water
Steps to make Tawa Pulao(Mumbai Style):
- In a pan add 2 tbps oil and add sliced onion and cook till onion turns lite golden at medium flame.
- Now add chopped potato and cook for 2 minutes at medium flame.
- Now add all spices like turmeric powder, salt, pav bhaji masala and red chilli paste and mix well.
- For red chilli paste add 5-6 red chillies in mixer jar with garlic cloves and cumin seeds. Add water to soak and to make paste. And grind it to a paste.
- Now add chopped tomato and let it cook for 2 minutes at medium flame.
- Now add green peas and add 1 cup water and let it cook for 5 minutes bat medium flame.
- Now add chopped cabbage and cook it for 2 minutes at medium flame.
- Once veggies soften, mash all well and add boiled rice. Mix all very well. Tawa Pulao is ready to serve with veg raita and salad.
