  16. Use 1 small Tamarind- lemon sized

  18. Provide 2 Dry red chillies
  19. Provide 1/4 tbsp Mustard
  20. You need 1/2 tbsp Pepper

  1. Soak the foxtail millet overnight or up to 6 hrs so that it will cook well.
  2. Wash and soak the toor dhal for 20 minutes and meanwhile take the tamarind and soak it for 30 minutes.
  3. Now In a pressure pan or cooker, add 4 tbsp of oil and add the items mentioned under tempering or else you can skip this step and do it atlast.

  8. Now add sambar powder, kulambu chilli powder and rasam powder (we use rasam powder because it will give nice aroma if you don't like skip it.).
  9. Check the salt and spicy adjust to your need.
  10. Cover the cooker and pressure cook for 3 whistle on a medium high flame.Turn off the stove.
