- Take 1/2 cup - peel and chopped ginger
- Use 1/2 tbsp - tamarind pulp (as per taste)
- Get 1 tbsp - jaggery(as per taste)
- Take 2 - dry red chillies
- Take 1 1/2 tbsp - chna dal
- Prepare 1/2 tbsp - udad dal
- You need 1 tsp - mustard seeds
- Prepare 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
- Provide 1 1/2 tbsp - oil
- Take 1/2 tsp - salt (as required)
Steps to make Allam pachadi/ginger chutney:
- Heat 1 tbs oil in a pan. Add chana dal, urad dal and red chilli. Fry it well until it becomes golden brown.
- Keep aside. Now in the same oil add ginger pieces and fry it well. Let it cool down.
- Mix all the above ingredients together in a blender. Add tamarind pulp, salt and jaggery Grind it well. Add little water to make smooth paste.
- Remove the chutney into serving bowl. Heat 1/2 tbs oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds as it is started cracking add cumin seeds and pinch asafoetida. Switch off the gas.
- Pour this tadka over the chutney. Mix well. Serve with pesarattu.
