The ingredients needed to prepare Sukhiyan:
- Use 1 cup Green gram
- Prepare 1/2-3/4 cup Jaggery
- Provide Water, as required
- You need 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
- Prepare 1 cup Maida
- Prepare 1 tbsp Rice flour
- Provide 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Get 1/8 tsp Salt
- Get 1/4 cup Coconut, grated
- You need Oil
Steps to make Sukhiyan:
- Cook the green gram in a pressure cooker or a vessel (do not overcook it) with enough water, until done and keep aside.
- Heat a pan add the cooked green gram along with water and jaggery. Stir until it becomes somewhat dry.
- Add grated coconut and cardamom powder. Cook it for 2 mins.
- Mix maida, turmeric powder, rice flour and a pinch of salt in water to make a thick batter.
- When the green gram-jaggery- coconut mixture is cold enough for touch, make small balls out of it.
- Dip them in the maida batter and deep fry.
