The ingredients needed to make Potoler dorma:
  1. Get 1.5 kg parwal(pointed gourd)
  2. Use 2 large onions
  3. Provide 4-5 cloves garlic
  4. Take 2-3 boiled potatoes
  5. You need 4-5 Green chillies
  6. Provide Black Pepper crushed
  7. Get to taste Salt
  8. You need Dry Coconut
  9. Take 10-15 Kishmish chopped
  10. Get 10 cashews chopped
  11. Use 1/4 tbsp Zeera sabut/ 1/4tbspzeera powder
  12. Use 1/4 tpsp Coriander powder
  13. You need 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
  14. Get 1/4 tbsp haldi
  15. Get 1 tsp Ginger(1inch) grated
  16. Provide as reqiued Water
  17. You need 1/4 tsp Garam masala
  18. Take 1 tbsp Besan
  19. Prepare 1tbsp Mustard oil for curry

Instructions to make Potoler dorma:
  1. Peel the pointed gourd with a sharp edged spoon or peeler.
  2. Now,make a small cut and use knife to scoop out the seeds and pulp of the pointed gourd.
    1. Add salt and turmeric to it and steam it on medium flame for 5-6mins only.
    1. Make holes in it usong a fork and keep aside.
  3. Now, for the filling.. - 1. Mash the boiled potatoes.
  4. Now the seeds you scooped out make a paste of it add 5-6 cloves of garlic and a few piece of fresh coconut. This will bring a nutty flavour to the filling.Now in 1tbs oil add this paste and cook it well.
  5. Add zeera powder, coriander powder, crushed black pepper and salt to the paste and add the mashed potatoes to it mix well.
  6. Now, fill the hollow pointed gourd with this filling properly and leave at least 2cm space while doing so.
  7. Now,make a thick batter of besan with water and seal the openings. - Then fry it at medium heat in oil till cooked.
  8. Now, for the curry.. it's a light curry - 1. In 1 tbsp oil add zeera, one basil leave, add the chopped onions. Saute for a bit.
    1. Add turmeric, chilli powder, zeera powder Coriander powder green chillies chopped, grated ginger, grate some coconut and fry this till it leaves oil add salt and a lil bit of sugar,then add water and when the water boils lower the flame and add the cashews and rasins and the gourds to it and let it simmer for 10 mins. Add some garam masala before turning off the heat. - Done.
