  2. Provide Handful khichadi rice
  3. Prepare Handful yellow mung daal
  4. Prepare Handful toor daal
  5. Use 1 carrot diced
  6. Prepare 1 small potato diced
  7. Provide 1 small onion chopped
  8. Take 1 cup thick curd
  9. Get 2 tsp gram flour
  10. Prepare 1 cup water
  11. You need For tempering khichadi-
  12. Provide 1 tbsp oil
  13. Provide 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  14. Provide 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  15. Get Pinch asfoitida
  16. Get 1/4-1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  17. You need As per taste Salt
  18. You need 1 tsp ghee
  19. You need 1 tsp OR 10-12 black pepper corns powder
  20. Use For tempering kadhi-
  21. Take 1 tbsp ghee
  22. Get 1 pc cinnamon
  23. Provide 2 pc cloves
  24. Take 4-6 pc curry leaves
  25. Prepare 1/4 tsp methi kuria
  26. Use 1 small red chilli whole
  27. You need 1/4 tsp asafoeitida
  28. Take 1 small green chilli splitted
  29. Prepare as per taste Salt
  30. Provide 1 wheat flour khichu's papad to serve
Instructions to make Vegetable khichadi with kadhi:
  1. Mix khichadi mix, both daal and rice. Wash and soak for 15-20 mins. Heat oil in pressure cooker, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds & asafoetida, let it splitter. Then add half of the chopped onion, chopped potato and carrot, add turmeric powder and saute for a while. Remove access water from khichadi and add to cooker. Mix well and saute for a while. Then add water in double quantity of khichadi and let it simmer for 4-5min. Then add remaining chopped onion.
  2. Cover with lid and do 2 whistles. Let it set and cool down. Open and add ghee, black pepper powder and mix well.
  3. In curd, add gram flour and whisk it well. Take care no lumps remain. In a pan add ghee and add methi Kuria, cinnamon, clove, curry leaves and saute. Then add green chilli and red chilli, saute for a while and add asafoetida. Then add buttermilk batter, water and salt. Add sugar too. Simmer for 4-5 min(Here I used chhash that made from malai, in Gujarati we call it Malai ki chhas. It really gives nice taste to kadhi. I always make kadhi from it.)
  4. Take a big bowl, grease it, then add small bowl upside down and fill this with khichadi. Turn it on plate. And remove bowl.
  5. Add kadhi to small bowl and serve with papad and onions.
