  1. You need 2 cups Shredded cabbage -
  2. Use ½ Onion chopped medium sized onion
  3. You need -¼ tspoon Mustard seed
  4. Provide -½ cup Grated coconut
  5. Prepare 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  6. Get ¼ tspoon Uzhunnu balls/urad dal -

  8. Provide 1 sprig Curry leaves -

  1. Crush the grated coconut with turmeric powder, a pinch of chilli powder, garlic and cumin seeds. Keep aside
  2. In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Add the urad dal and roast.
  3. To it add the red chilli and the curry leaves.
  4. Add the chopped onion and green chilli and saute well. Add salt to taste.
  5. Once the onion is sauted, add the shredded cabbage and saute.
  6. After 2 minutes add the crushed coconut mixture and and combine everything.
  7. Cover the pan on low flame for about 6 minutes. The cabbage will be cooked by this time
  8. Open the lid and saute for another 3 minutes so that the cabbage thoran will be dry.
  9. Serve with hot rice.
