The ingredients needed to cook Khichdi:
- Take 500 grams basmati rice(soaked for 30 minutes)
- Take 3-4 tablespoons masoor dal washed & soaked with rice
- Get 1 small onion
- Provide 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
- Take 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Prepare Few coriander leaves
- Prepare 1 teaspoon Salt
- Take 3-4 Cinnamon sticks

Steps to make Khichdi:
- Take a cookware dish and keep on medium flame and add oil.
- Then add chopped onions let it fry it light brown then immediately add ginger garlic paste sauté a little.
- Then add water almost 2 glasses or as required and all spices of Garam masala mentioned above then add salt & coriander leaves.
- Let the water come to boiling hot level then add the soaked rice with masoor dal keep it for one more boil then simmer flame & cover the lid for about 5 minutes then off the flame

- Tip of the day: Make sure the rice is not overcooked it won’t look nice so add water accordingly in rice. And as always I say never serve it right from the stove when it’s cooked especially rice always once cooked u just give it 10-15 minutes to settle down then when u serve it rice looks very nice non-sticky.
