The ingredients needed to prepare Gulgule with Kheer:
- Prepare For gulgule-
- Use 1 1/2 cup sugar
- Provide 1 cup water (depends on consistency sometimes)
- Prepare 2 cups plain wheat flour
- Prepare 3-4 cups ghee/refined oil
- Get For kheer-
- Take 1 litre milk
- Prepare 1/2 cup rice (preferably basmati)
- Use as required Dry fruits - raisins, cashew, almond
- Get 1/2 cup sugar
Instructions to make Gulgule with Kheer:
- Keep milk to boil on low flame, add rice into it and stir it occasionally. (Avoid sticking of rice to the base of utensils). After the rice is half cooked, add small pieces of dry fruits to it. Once rice is cooked properly, add sugar according to your taste and garnish it with almonds.
- While kheer is on flame, we will set the dough for gulgule.
- Mix wheat flour and sugar thoroughly (avoid lumps in it) and start mixing water to it. The consistency of your dough should be slightly thicker than pakoda we usually make.
- Now pour ghee in the kadahi and put it on medium flame. Once the ghee is all set to fry the gulgule, take a small quantity of dough in your hand and try to make round or oval shape of gulgule and fry it until it becomes brown in colour as shown in the image. Keep the flame between low to medium.
- If you wish you can add slices of banana or raisins while frying the gulgule. This makes gulgule more tasty.
